Shankar Sharan, more popularly known as "Party", Mech '86. I have few good memories of him of his college days:
1. He used to provide akin "AAA" service for his "Bhoiya", no matter wherever the Bajaj would run out of gas.
2. He and Langat Singh(Rajeev Singh of Kumardhubi in Mech'86) used to go down to pennies while calculating and settling down the share of the money spent in any group activities.
3. He had a unique style of pressing his lower lip by his teeth whenever he used to "think" a lot! Also, when he was playing cards' game- "29" and was about to throw his last "patta" to claim the win and last hand point!!
4. By far he was the best mess manager BIT had ever found!!
5.It may not sound a believable thing now, but during those days we used to have competitive exams for companies too for the jobs. I strongly believe that many of our batch mates must attribute a great amount of success to party for his "organizing" abilities on reverse of cigarette case to pass on, you know what I mean!
6. If I am not mistaken, he was the football captain of our college, not sure if we had seen him playing ever!! :)
But above all Shankar had been one of the most reliable and easy going person and cool character of our Mech.'86 branch and probably batch as well! Last I heard about his achievement was that he had become President of ONGC Officers' union, is that true? If yes, I attribute success to a lot of our batch mates who are in ONGC and must have voted for party- I mean "party", in singular term!
