2007 Had a remarkable start.

At first I had some friends contacting me.... till Rohit and Sanjay got us all moving and then there was a flood of emails from .......

In all this I dont want to leave out Kaushik who has been working deligently to get us all to connect. ( Kaushik you will always be our "Founding Forefather" !)

I was really glad to see that despite the ravages of time on our "physical beings" we are the same old guys and gals we were in the good old days !

As the saying goes - "Rassi jal gayi par bal nahin gaya !" or if you prefer the cliche " Kutte ki dum.... ! "

I would really like to keep all these emails tied together as they do make us smile & curse and love it - all at the same time !!

10 yrs down the line when I pick up my reading glasses and try to fumble with the computer - I would love to go back and re read all this goofballing !

So let me try to put all that went back and forth in the emails for everyone to enjoy - If anyone has a better Idea - lets put it in place !

Hi everyone,

It was a great meeting some of you in Dhanbad/Sindri on Dec. 23/24.
Undoubtedly, It was facinating to see/meet people and revisit our campus--hostel, Kameshar dhaba, etc.

I won't go too much into detail, but let pictures do all the talking...
Option 1--if you just want to view pictures Sanjay Jha has given access to his blog where I have uploaded some pictures.

Dear Sanjay,

Thanks for sending some nice pictures of our college. Yes, I missed it. It took me to the old and lively days of our stay in Sindri.
It is nice to know that our college is doing well.

You all had lot of fun!!! Good to see some old faces and pictures after a longtime. I was able to recoginize some but not all (sorry). I think, Mukhia ji had the least amount of change (Let me know your trick). This was a good start and we should plan more often. Hopefully, I will be able to join next time.

Hey It was wonderful !

I know those who made it to Sindri had a lot of fun going down the memory
lane But I would say the " The virtual trip " that took the rest of us ,
back in time to Sindri, was not bad either.

I just could not help smiling and bursting out in laughter at some of the
pictures - Sp the Girls Hostel ! ( Can you Imagine we lived there !)

The Dhaba ! The Ganna ka Rus !

And one of the ardent wishes of all of us girls then - was to sit on the
railings of the Boys hostel and whistle at you guys and take our badla - It
was nice to see some " girls " sitting there for a change.

And last but not the least - it was nice to know that I am not the only one
getting fat & old !

With love and best wishes,

Hema

PS - I got at least 10 copies of this sent to me - just shows how much this
has touched our hearts !

Hi Hema,
Enjoyed reading your comments.
Hope everything is good on your side.
Based on people's reaction, I am thinking to make this reunion at least once in
2 years. Most likely we will meet in Delhi, next year.
Bye
Rohit

Hema,
Thanks for your mail. Is it not a great feeling to get in touch with each other after 16 years? I really enjoyed every moment of my trip to Sindri more so because I was seeing people after so many years, still can't believe that were I dreaming or it really happened! And the best outcome of the meet is that we are again connected and hopefully we can take advantage of the Internet age and exchange e-mails once in a while. Can we make a more frequent meet may be somewhere in Delhi or any other metro? I am sure it will prove to be a better decision for convenience of people.
Let us hope it happens and we get a chance to meet sooner than 16 long years!
Till then please keep mailing.
Cheers,
Sanjay

hi rohit
really a great conceptual implementation of ur thought ..good job.. man and thanks sanjay(if it is u in the picture with receding hair lines and increasing waist
line!!!!)for the virtual journey..

Alok,Sudip,Nand,Binny,Mukhiya(in great shape mukhiaji..)Mp singh, arvind sinha, rakesh(sorry i could not identify the ladies).... and all u all where the real gainers...

sindri has really improved & this is evident from the fact that this year 350 students got campus selection and at least three companies had selectors from our
batch...
did u all know that "eco times" ranked BIT sindri just after iim A and iit kgp as the best institute for campus placement....

congrats !
alok verma
---------------------------------
Hi Alok,

Quite understandable , why you couldn't recognize the Girls/ ladies !
After all " Tum to Ladkion Ki taraf dekhte hi nahin the !!!!! "

I can hear the big " No - that is not true " -
from all yr friends !!!
So ab is budhape mein to pretend karna chod do !!

-Hema

----------------------------------
hi hema
long time..
just asked rohit for a clarification about the "ladies issue"..he really could not manage to get any one from ur tribe to sindri..all those beatiful ladies where
spouses of the priviledged junta.. so the faux pau..

and moreover it proves that the patriotic feelings are more deep rooted in the "male" of the species.

just kidding..pl dont start anti MCP campaigh against me..

sindri is celeberating an alumni meet on the 5th of feb all are invited for a cup of tea at kameshwar..
chai
alok

----------------------------------

You know yr attitudes will never change - just like Amitabh - "Hum jahan
khede ho gaye line vahin se line shuru hoti hai !" - You Guys will se - ham
jab aur jahan bhi apne batchmates se mil gaye - alumni meet ho gayi. "

I had not seen any invitation to that ! ( and just imagine if we start
having alumni meet every other month ! ) - I think only a virtual one is
possible that frequently !

And now we have Sanjay Jha's Blog site ! He is despirately trying to say -
Hey Create yr own - and take this $ 5 Off Coupon ! - But Sanjay - Just like
in the good old days - we believe in sharing ! You might as well start
creating albums for every one - by name so that we can upload our & our
family photographs there !!!!

As far as the zero representation - " Sudip - Why were you there alone ???"

Hema

-----------------------------------
Hema and the crowd,
I have already started sharing the photo dump yard and you all are free to dump your private and "public" photographs. No not kidding but I mean it, it has unlimited quota....so why not take advantage of this. That reminds me of "12: or "13" number chais we used to order at Anand Restaurant in Jamshedpur during our summer training days at Tisco...did any one get that what 12 or 13 signify...simple yaar.....ek ka do aur if bahut jayada kadkee to ek ka teen.....
Anyway, Hema you were very quiet during all those four years.....don't know how you developed so much of sense of humor in last so many years ...keep it up....I can sense that better halves contribute in their own ways.......kudos to Kuldeep Verma that ever since Basrao changed to Verma...there is a spring change in you.....
But I don't know why janta is so quiet. All those vociferous lot are dead quiet, not sure whether they are receiving our mails or not...
Listen, we have a new challenge for all those who are at least reading the mails and keeping intentionally quiet,...that please shoot few lines and also get more "personal" e-mails of "bystanders" who have given the e-mail accounts having constant reply like "is marg ki sabhee lines vyast hain..." at least these mails when reach to their personal e-mails, they will be forced to read all the "junks" we are propagating...junk or otherwise...it is fun to read right?
Keep up the spirit....I am sure we can be more close knit than before...hopefully this emerging "virtual group" will break the ice and vacuum which was created in last 16 years can be avoided in future.....

I am enjoying the mails...so keep it going....be rest assured that there is at least one reader for sure...:)

BTW, I am in the US for last one year...am Canadian citizen now but moved to Virginia....am ready to explore any part of the US...jidhar naukaree le jaaye.....chala jata hun...naukari ke dhun pe.....(I know it was a PJ, but seriously am coming out of my current project and looking for a new one, if someone can care for me ask for my CV, will be glad to provide that.......)
Cheers,
Sanjay

Hi Guys
Really long time....Hema Basrao is Hema Verma and so
on and so forth....., I really wish I could have
made it to Sindri, but any way, we are still able to
enjoy the virtual tour. Thanks to Rohit and
Sanjay.(Both my lab mates, Rohit 1 role no before me
and Sanjay 1 after :) )

Can you believe it, it is more than 20 years we
first entered Sindri as freshers (Murgas and
Murgis)......

Cheers
Reena

chief reason why these guys looked so enlighted after
labs...
